The Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) is an organization that sets standards that SERVPRO of Hockessin / Elsmere follows. The S550 Standard is for Professional Water Damage Restoration of Commercial Structures. It is a procedural standard for performing water damage in the commercial, industrial, institutional, and complex residential structures. This standard includes building and material science, drying complex materials and systems, safety and health, documentation, logistics, inspections, restoration procedures, HVAC and equipment. SERVPRO follows the universal standards and best practices in our expertise in water damage restoration. It is impractical to use blanket rules in every water damage situation because every water damage has unique circumstances. Our company follows these guidelines and procedures and our staff is trained and certified. We reference their standards and strive to be up to date with the latest standards so we are able to implement them.
